Tourmaline

Mineralogy: Crystal silicate mineral compounded with elements such as aluminum, iron, magnesium, sodium, lithium, or potassium.

Emotional Uses: It encourages patience and openness, as well as sincere interest in fellow human beings.
Physical Uses: All the Tourmalines contain a wide scope of healing effects. The multi-colored Tourmalines combine several qualities.
Folklore: Native Americans have used pink and green Tourmaline as funeral gifts for centuries. An old Egyptian legend, is that the Tourmaline, on its long journey up from the center of the Earth, passed over a rainbow. In doing so, it assumed all the colors of the rainbow.

Mineralogy: A plagioclase feldspar exhibiting in certain directions a brilliant spangled appearance due to reflections from enclosures of red haematite.

Folklore: Sunstone was first used by the Vikings as a navigation tool on their ocean-going vessels.

Magical Properties: Protection, Health, Energy, Sexual Energy, brings good fortune and abundance.

Kunzite


Kunzite is a stone that has been around for millions of years, yet was only 'discovered' less than a hundred years ago by a gemstone specialist named George Kunz, when pale pink Kunzite was found in San Diego County. It ranges from pale pink to lavender. There is little tradition associated with it as it so new. Many contemporary healers advocate its use in alleviating depression and mood disorders.
